The aged old question, to powder or not to powder? For me it is one of the most important parts of your makeup routine. When you powder correctly it makes your makeup last for the whole day, keeping it looking fresh. A lot of people think that using powder will make their skin appear dry, well I’m here to tell you that’s not true! Setting powders are designed to make your makeup last, forget about the 7 week stay foundation. If you have a good powder you won’t need a long lasting foundation. There are lots of different kinds of powders on the market and I use three almost every time I do makeup.
The first is from Japanese brand Shiseido. It’s called Translucent Loose Powder and it is perfect for all skin tones. It helps keep your skin looking smooth and clear and also minimises the appearance of pores. And most importantly keeps your makeup looking. It even has Bio-evening primrose oil which hydrates your skin! Amazing!!
The second and the powder that acts like a little magic eraser is from Laura Mercier, it’s called Secret Brightening Powder and it’s perfect for those days that your feeling tired. You apply this little beauty under your eyes and it gets rid of dark circles. Now be careful not to use too much as Eva Longoria found out, too much of a good thing is bad!
The last and the powder I use most is from MAC it’s called Blotting Powder. This powder comes in lots of shades but the most popular colours are medium and medium dark. It’s available in two forms loose and pressed compact. The best one is the pressed powder, which you will carry at all times! It’s amazing for taking the shine off your forehead. When you use the powder always dab the powder onto the puff and roll it onto your skin. In my opinion you only need to bring this powder and your lippy out with you at night time.
