Chanel Spring Collection

I LOVE Chanel and everything they do. The Couture show was held in Paris this week and Karl Largerfeld is a genius! The Chanel shows are one of the shows that I really look forward to seeing, I would love nothing better than being in the crowd lovingly adoring the designs, the makeup, the hair and the setting. The shows are always in the most amazing spaces. This Couture was held in Paris’ Grand Palais, an incredibly beautiful building with the most amazing glass roof. Not only did Chanel have the show in this beautiful historical building they also transported 90 oak trees and over 300 bushes, could it be any better?? And the clothes, the clothes. You need to see them for yourself, check out Style.com
Anyway you’re not here to listen to me go on about clothes shall we get on to the makeup? The Spring Collection launched on January 18th and it is devine! The vision of Creative Director of Chanel Make Up, Peter Philips this collection is all about elegant natural shades creating innocent eye makeup with a beautiful soft complexion which will bring attention to your nail and lip, which with this collection is an explosion of colour.

My favourite product from the collection is the Poudre Signée De Chanel. It is a silky powder which is used as a highlighter. It’s a great texture and gives you a soft sheen. This powder is exclusive to this collection and I predict that it will fly off the shelves, just like Luna did a few seasons ago. The powder has been embossed with the Chanel Logo the famous Chanel Camelias and lipsticks. Costs €55.00.

The lipsticks in this collection range from bold colours to classic tender nudes. As with all Rouge Allure lipsticks they are highly pigmented and intensly moisturising. There are four new shades for spring. Fantasque, a soft rose with pearly finish, Précieuse a beautiful warm peach shade, perfect for our Irish skin. Captivante a great brown with hints of copper and amber, this would be a fantastic nude shade on dark skin tones. The last lipstick in the collection is Envoûtante which is an intense violet-plum colour, rich and bold! There are two lipliners in the collection Rubellite a great pink shade and Palissandre a deep natural brown shade. They have also created two new gloss’s for the collection which are perfect for over lipstick or to be used alone for a subtle hint of colour and sheen. And for the girls out there who rather a matte lipstick there are two great shades of their Rouge Allure Velvet. A great coral shade called La Favorite and fantastic pink that matches the Fracas nail polish called L’Éclatante. Lipsticks cost €30.50 and Gloss’ cost €30.50.

The nail varnish for this collection is as always sublime. There are three shades; a perfect nude, Emprose and hot pink called Fracas and an incredible deep burgendy shade called Accessoire which for me is a modern take of one of the worlds most popular nail colour Rouge Noir, it’s stunning! Costs €22.00.

Eye makeup is really taking a back seat to lipsticks and nails this season with Chanel, saying that the eye collection does not disappoint. There is a great quad which has the perfect mixture of neutral shades including a coppery mink (perfect for blue or green eyes), a great matte brown, a taupe that has luminous qualities and a pearly beige. My favourite product from the eye collection is the Ombres Contraste Duo in Sable Emouvany which has a fantastic warm brown shade and a simple beige. These two shadows are full of pigment so you only need to use very little. Les 4 Ombres cost €47.00 and the Duo costs €37.00.
