AW 2013 Trends from Fashion Weeks

So Paris Fashion Week is coming to a close, I am devastated that I won’t be jumping from Style.com to Vogue.com checking out what has been going on that day each night. Although I think Glenn will be happy that he may get my attention for more than a fleeting second! I love when fashion week is on, it brings me joy and gives me inspiration, feeding the creative part of my soul. And after the AW 2013 collection my soul is well and truly stuffed.

There has been some great highlights this season and possibly one of the best things that has happened EVER is that John Galliano has returned to the runway, even if it was as a creative consultant on Oscar De La Renta’s New York show, I really think fashion missed and needs his amazing talent.

There has been some incredible makeup looks this season with some of them being amazingly user friendly. One of my all time favourites was the Derek Lam makeup, which I wrote about here.

Another show that the makeup was flawless on was Anthony Vaccarello which was held in Paris last Tuesday. The Estée Lauder brand sponsored the beauty look at the show and one of my all time heros Tom Pecheux, Estée Lauder’s Creative Makeup Director, was responsable for creating the look. Tom led a team of 12 makeup artists to create the look on models, including Estée Lauder’s Global Spokesmodel Liu Wen. Manicurist Christina Conrad and her team used nail lacquers from the new Pure Color Vivid Shine collection to create the nail look. Here’s what Tom had to say about the collection:

“Anthony’s collection is bold, graphic, a strong statement in black and white. I created a monochromatic makeup look with a strong focus on lips, using deep burgundy, and repeated it on lids for moody eyes. This intense pop of color is striking against perfectly matte skin, pale and translucent.”

For the first time ever, Estée Lauder with Tom Pecheux supported the Isabel Marant Fall 2013 Show at Espace Vendome on Friday, March 1st.. Marant is the “reigning queen of French girl cool” and this partnership is a match made in heaven. The makeup look is stunning, effortless and simple. The makeup is boyish while being beautiful and pretty. Here’s what Tom had to say about the look:

“I wanted to create a makeup look that was both feminist and boyish. The focus is on the brows, which are effortless but controlled – full, with volume, almost masculine. Makeup on the face is very light, very sheer, like a veil, while the lips are simple, natural and nude.”

If you would like to acheive this look at home, here is the list of what to use. For the skin use the following Revitalizing Supreme Global Anti-Aging Creme, Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex, Idealist Pore Minimizing Skin Refinisher and Advanced Night Repair Eye Serum Infusion – as you can see it is all about making sure the skin is prepped well and ready to take the makeup. If you use the correct skincare your makeup can go from being nice to beautiful. On the skin Tom used Double Wear Light Stay-in-Place Makeup and Double Wear Stay-in-Place Concealer, only use the smallest amounts of these products to acheive this beautiful no makeup look. Then lightly dust your face with Lucidity Translucent Loose Powder in Transparent, to make sure that everything stays in place. To add a hint of colour to the skin Tom used Pure Color Blush in Sensuous Rose and Pure Color Blush in Blushing Nude. On the eyes Tom used Pure Color Instant Intense EyeShadow Trio in Smoked Chrome – launching September 2013 (Center Shade) and Pure Color EyeShadow Duo in Vanilla Pods (left shade / Lightest color). Tom curled the eye lashes but did not use any mascara, a look that I think is beautiful. For the all important brows Tom used Estee’s Automatic Brow Duo, one of the best brow pencils on the market, remember when buying your brow product always buy in a shade lighter than your brow colour as the product goes a few shades darker when applied to your brow hair. Tom used Pure Color Long Lasting Lipstick in Vanilla Truffle and Pure Color Vivid Shine Lipstick in Gilded Honey- launching September 2013 – to complete the look.
