Brown Thomas Spring Summer Beauty Shoot

Last week a shoot I worked on for Brown Thomas was featured in The Weekender Magazine in Saturdays Irish Independent. It was to promote some of the amazing brands that are stocked in Brown Thomas and also give you guys ideas and the know how to recreate the look at home. Daniel Holfeld was the photographer on the job, this was the first time that I had worked with Daniel and I really hope it is not the last, I am in LOVE with the images. We decided to use two of Ireland’s greatest beauties in Sarah Morrissey and Karen Fitzpatick and we did two looks on both girls. One that is more neutral and the one that you could have going to the Oscars! I am so happy with the results that we got and I hope you like them!

For this look I really wanted the skin to look flawless so before I put any makeup on I prepped Sarah’s cleansed skin with a thick layer of Sisley’s Hydra-Flash Formule Intensive. I left it on for 10 minutes and then tissueed off any excess; no need to rinse. I then used Giorgio Armani Maestro foundation in No.5, €45.00. I applied this with my fingers making sure it was perfectly blended. I then used Sisley Phyto Cernes eclat, €78.50, to conceal under Sarah’s eyes. I then set the foundation and concealer with Giorgio Armani Loose Micro-fil Setting Powder, €37.00. To add a beautiful freshness to Sarah’s skin I added Tom Ford Blusher No.2 Frantic Pink €56.00, this is the perfect shade of blusher and gives you perfectly flushed cheeks. I then applied a sheer layer of Tom Ford Bronzing Powder Gold Dust €77.00 to the outer corners of Sarah’s face to give her skin a beautiful glow. I really wanted Sarah’s eyes to be super simple so I used Chanel’s Illusion D’Ombre in 83 Illusoire €29.50. I applied this with my finger and only applied it to the centre of the upper lid and I brought the colour quite high almost to Sarah’s eyebrow. Then to add detail I used Tom Ford Burnished Amber Quad €70, I kept the darkness only at the very corner of the eyes really just to accentuate the shape of her eyes. To finish off the eye makeup I applied a very light layer of YSL’s Shocking mascara, €31.50. I then used Giorgio Armani’s Rouge d’Armani 101 €26.50, on Sarah’s perfect lips. This is the perfect nude shade and such a beautiful texture.

To really bring this look from desk to disco I added Nars Eyeshadow Persia. To really make Sarah’s beautiful eye colour stand out I then used Tom Ford Burnished Amber Quad and Sahara Haze €70, to add detail and really accentuate the shape of Sarah’s eyes. I then applied a thick layer of YSL’s Shocking mascara. To pump up the blush I used Chanel’s Joues Contraste in Malice, which is such a fantastic colour and perfect for Irish skin tones. I applied the blusher quite high on Sarah’s face and blended it upwards towards her hairline. I know that if you were around in the 80’s this may scare you but the shades of blusher today are way more sheer. I then used Shu Uemura Lipstick OR572 €21.00 which is such a fantastic orange colour and perfect for spring. I applied Tom Ford’s Nail Lacquer in Toasted Sugar.

For this look the skin needed to be perfect, so again I prepped Karen’s skin with Sisley’s Hydra Hydra-Flash Formule so that the texture would be perfect, I then applied a small amount of Lancôme’s Hydra Zen NeuroCalm Day Cream to really make sure that Karens skin was perfectly hydrated. I used Giorgio Armani Maestro No.5 €45.00 and then I used Giorgio Armani Maestro Eraser #2, €32.50. I used this shade as I wanted to use a lighter shade to add lighter tones to Karens skin. I then contoured Karen’s face using Tom Ford Shade & Illuminate No.1 €67.00. This contour cream is the perfect shade for creating shadows on your face giving you razor sharp cheekbones and the highlighter is just perfect giving your skin a perfectly healthy glow. I used Tom Ford’s Brow Sculptor no.2 Taupe, €41.00 to create the perfect brows. I always start by strengthening the inside corner of the brow and then fill in the rest of the brow, when your doing the outer part of your brow try to keep it straighter; if your round the end of the brow you can make your face look a little sad. For Karens eyes I used Giorgio Armani Eyeshadow Quad No.4 €58.50 really just to contour the shape of her eyes and add depth. I applied lashings of Lancôme’s Hypnôse mascara. On Karens lips I applied Shu Uemura Lipstick OR540 €21.00, this is a perfect orange nude lip.

I added more of Tom Ford’s Shade & Illuminate No.1 €67.00, to really accentuate Karens incredible cheek bones. On her eyes I used a MAC Soft Brown eyeshadow just in the crease of the eye. I then set the whole face with Nars Sheer Setting Powder. I then applied Shu Uemura Lashes No.01 €19.31 (includes complimentary application if required) to add drama to the eyes. I them applied Sisley Lipstick L33 €37.50 which is my favourite new red lipstick. It is the perfect texture and the most wonderful shade of red. I applied Tom Ford Nail Polish Bordeaux Lust €31.00 to Karens nails.
