The Chanel Cruise Show was held last Thursday, the setting was an old nutmeg plantation in Singapore. The colonial-style black-and-white bungalow was the perfect setting for the show. The clothes were all black, white, and beige. The only pop of colour was the amazing makeup!
The makeup as always was beautiful, created by Peter Philips and I love that the stand out colour in the whole show was the great blue that was used on the eyes. The makeup looks like it was inspired by punk, which seems to be the look of the moment. The skin is beautifully soft and clean, the lips neutral, it’s all about the eyes!
For the perfect complexion Peter used VITALUMIERE AQUA topped with the amazing new LES BEIGES which was created this year by Chanel. He then used ECLAT LUMIERE to add the perfect amount of highlight and corrected any imperfections with CORRECTEUR PERFECTION. To make sure that everything stayed perfect for the night everything was set with POUDRE UNIVERSELLE LIBRE.
The most dramatic part of the makeup was the eyes. The blue under the eye was created using a new product that will be on counter at the end of the month. It’s called
STYLO YEUX WATERPROOF in True Blue – N°57. I will have a review of the summer collection up later this week, but lets just say that you will all be wanting these STYLO YEUX but maybe not in the electric blue colour. On the upper lid Peter used the same product but in black, which is available now. INIMITABLE waterproof mascara was only used on the upper lashes after being curled with the Chanel lash curler, a beautiful looking piece of equipment. Brows were defined using CRAYON SOURCILS.
For the cheeks Peter used
JOUES CONTRASTE – Frivole N°76 a great shade to add the perfect amount of colour to the look. For the lips ROUGE COCO BAUME was used to give a wonderfully moist look to the the makeup. The nails were painted with
LE VERNIS – Black Satin N°219 to add to the punk/gothic look.
As always the guest list at the show was the who’s who in fashion and film. Guests included Dakota Fanning and Carine Roitfeld. Cara Delevingne was also there to star in the show. She had been at the Met Ball the night before in New York and she looked incredibly beautiful and not at all jet lagged after her 18 hour flight. I dread to think how I would look after an 18 hour flight!!
