Fathers Day Gift Ideas

I am not sure if your Dad is like mine and has everything any man could need and or want. I think Dad is the most difficult person in the world to buy for, and I am usually good at picking the perfect gift! So this year I have planned and I think I have a list of perfect gifts that will suit most pockets.

Gillette Fusion ProGlide

First on my list is shaving, it

is at the core of male grooming and the most men shave on a regular basis. For wet shaving nobody does it better than Gillette. The fusion ProGlide is the result of years of extensive research, bringing together scientific insights, specific consumer needs, and Gillette’s most advanced technology for men with sensitive skin. It is

designed to cut hairs closely whilst avoiding damaging delicate skin delivering an exceptionally close shave with less irritation, even on the most sensitive areas of the face including the neck and jaw line. It is available in both manual and power. Costs start at €13.99 for the manual and €19.39 for the power version. It is available nationwide in most supermarkets and pharmacies.

I do not normally wet shave, as I like the stubble look so I have been using a shaver from Philips for the past few years. It’s the perfect electric shaver, it has a magic compartment that catches the hair as you shave so you do not end up with tiny little hairs in the sink! I got mine in Harvey Norman and it cost €30.00.

Kiehl's Facial Fuel Sky Flyin' Foaming Multi-Gel

If he does wet shave, a man always LOVES a good shaving gel/foam. I have found the perfect one, it is from the Facial Fuel range from Kiehl’s. This great multi use product is a face wash along with being a shaving gel. It has a great fragrance, and is vitamin-enriched and is perfect for sensitive skin. It costs €26.00 and is available from Kiehl’s on Wicklow Street, Dundrum Town Centre and at Atnotts. There is a full range of Facial Fuel products and they start at €15.00.

Calvin Klein Eternity Summer him

If your Dad likes aftershave there are loads of new offerings. With prices ranging from €20. I have picked my favourites and of course my Glenn’s favourites, who unlike me me does not like smelling like a girl! Calvin Klein have launched Eternity for men Summer, it is a very fresh fragrance but not as sweet as the original fragrance, it is available nationwide and costs €41.90 for a 100ml bottle.

Beckham Urban Homme

David Beckham’s new aftershave, Urban Homme, was a bit of a surprise for me, it is really nice!! It have a lovely masculine scent with a base of cedar, suede and amber which gives it its manly scent but there are also notes of mandarin, green apple and thyme which gives it a really fresh fruity smell. Costs €23.95 and is available nationwide.

Davidoff Cool Water Man into the Ocean 125ml

Another classic aftershave has been given a make-over this year, Davidoff Cool Water Into The Ocean is available now, it has top notes of zest of mandarin and grapefruit. The heart incorporates sage and basil, leading to juniper in the base of the fragrance, which basicilly means that it is a fresh aftershave. Costs €41.90 for a massive 125ml and is available nationwide.

Allure Homme Sport Eau Extrême - €98.00 for 150ml

Chanel always have some amazing fragrance for men, this limited edition Allure Homme Eau Extreme is no exception. It has the perfect blend of musk, spice and woody scents to make it manly yet with a touch of fresh aromatics keeping it fresh and light it does not smell too heavy or overpowering. it comes in a huge 150 ml spray and costs €98.00. Available from all Chanel outlets nationwide.

TOM FORD NOIR w_angle (50ml)

Of course I couldn’t write about fragrance without talking about Tom Ford, his new fragrance for men is called Noir. Inspired by The Orient, just like the new collection that is coming out in the Private Blend collections in July, this woody spicy scent has many layers, making it both warm and seductive. Tom Ford himself has said that it is his most personal fragrance yet. It is a deep masculine scent and positively perfect! Available nationwide and costs €74.00.

If you don’t think your dad would like any of the above, you can always go garden centre and buy him a bird table that he can build himself, if he is like my Dad I am sure he is an ‘expert’ in both birds and building! (The house part of the bird table that I got for my Dad last year fell off the following Wednesday even though he managed to use about 25 extra nails and screws!!
