A little bit of sparkle for January

Luxeffects range shot

I know that we are all feeling the January Blues, well I hope I am not the only one! I have managed to completely change my sleeping pattern and find myself awake until stupid o’clock every night and then in the morning I could sleep for the day. It’s not fun at all! I blame this on our decision to re-watch Grey’s Anatomy from the very beginning, it really is one of the best TV programmes.

I think that we all should try and add a little sparkle to our lives at this time of year, a really easy way to add just the right amount of sparkle is use a glitter nail polish. There is nothing quite like looking at your nails when they look like Dorothy’s shoes! There are loads on the market that range in price from just a few euros. My favourites are from Barry M and Essie.

Barry M is a great budget brand that is available in pharmacy’s, I always get it in Boots. They have a red glitter nail polish that is just perfection, your nails really do sparkle just like the Ruby Slippers. The down side of it is that it is almost impossible to remove, so be sure to take care when you’re applying it. The best thing about it is that it costs only €4.59.

Essie’s Luxeffects collection is mega. There are five colours to choose from. Of course I love the ones with the larger glitter particles (blue, silver and pinkish red). They are available at selected pharmacy’s and nail salons. I always get mine in my favourite nail bar Mink in Ballsbridge.

  1. Love this! The contrast looks amnziag and a very creative way of using the stamp. I’ve just discovered you have a nail blog . . . after years of reading your papercraft blog. I was thinking how cool this would be in shades of taupe kind of like wheel tracks!
