It’s that time of year again when all of the worlds fashion lovers are constantly checking Style.com and Vogue.co.uk for the latest shows. For me, I always look at the makeup looks first, then the hair, then the shoes and finally the clothes and accessories. I am sure that it is different for everyone, depending on what’s your main love. I truly love all of it but of course makeup is my fist love!
This is the 9th season that Esteé Lauder have collaborated with Derek Lam for his show makeup. Tom Pecheux Esteé Lauder’s Creative Makeup Director is a regular at Fashion Week. His work constantly inspires me. It’s always so simple and can be easily translated to ‘real’ women.
“Derek’s collection is strong, urban, ethnic-inspired with an emphasis on texture. The makeup look is strong, yet fluid, with pools of gray and green surrounding the eye. I was inspired by water, a lagoon, deep and cool.” – Tom Pecheux, Estée Lauder Creative Makeup Director
The makeup for this show is simple and stunning. On the skin Revitalizing Supreme Global Anti-Aging Creme, Revitalizing Supreme Global Anti-Aging Eye Balm and Idealist Pore Minimizing Skin Refinisher were used on all the girls to insure that they had the freshest skin possible. For the skin Tom choose to use Double Wear Light Stay-in-Place Makeup and Double Wear Stay-in-Place High Cover Concealer SPF 35 were needed and this was set with Lucidity Translucent Loose Powder in Transparent to be sure that it all stayed in place. That is all that was used on the face, clean and simple. If you decided to try this look spend extra time ensuring that your foundation is perfect as you will not have blush and bronzer to cover any small mishaps. The eyes are the strongest eleiment of the whole look. And granted this may not be a look that the majority of you would feel confortable doing for a night out. But as I said before this look translates so easily to every girl. You just do’n make it as rounded under your eyes. First Tom ensured that the lip was set with Lucidity Translucent Loose Powder in Transparent this acts as base for the shadow that follows. Then Tom used Pure Color Instant Intense EyeShadow Trio in Camo Chrome (Right/Darkest Shade) and Pure Color EyeShadow in Ivy Envy and blended them to perfection using Blending Shadow Brush 25. As you can see from the images it’s a very round shape almost touching your brow. For the lips Tom used Pure Color Envy Sculpting Lipstick in Insatiable Ivory and Intense Nude, which gave the models a nude lip but there was the perfect amount of colour so they all looked perfectly healthy.
