Jo Malone Basil & Neroli

So, anyone that has been in my company in the past 900 years knows that I wear two fragrances mostly. One being my beloved Tom Ford Neroli Portofino or Jo Malone’s Lime Basil & Mandarin. On a recent trip to Brown Thomas I bought the Lime Basil & Mandarin defuser, candle and room spray, living with two dogs who’s bed is the sofa calls for some serious home fragrance solutions. But because the house smells like my old fragrance I had started not to wear it very often, but I do love it so much.

So when I got this new fragrance from Jo Malone it was actually like master perfumer Anne Flipo got into my head and made the perfect scent for me, thank you Anne!! With a top note of Basil and a heart of neroli with a base of white musk (another old favourite of mine, my Nanny wore White Musk for years) this is a really modern take on a fragrance. With the simplicity of the notes in the perfume it’s fresh and floral with just a hint of green notes makes it the perfect scent, not overpowering in any way yet the scent lasts all day, although I have been know to spray it on every hour so I can get a fresh hit of the scent.

Did you know that if you can’t smell your own perfume after about 30 minutes it means that this is the right perfume for you while of you can smell your fragrance all day means that it’s too much! It’s something to do with our natural animal instinct kicking in and if our body chooses to ignore the scent this means that it suits you but if you can smell it all day means that your body feels that the fragrance is a threat to you and keeps warning you until you deal with the situation. Mother Nature is really a grand girl isn’t she!!

Well the fragrance is available now on Jo Malone counters, I get mine in either Brown Thomas Grafton Street or BT2 Dundrum.

The cologne has a RRP of €54 for 30ml or €109 for 100ml. There’s also a hand and body wash with a RRP of €35 a body cream with a RRP of €65 and of course the home candle with an RRP of €52
