Jo Malone, The Bloomsbury Set

Launching next month The Bloomsbury Set sounds like it’s been made for me! I LOVE floral fragrances, obviously I love the smell but they also do more than scent for me. Your sense of smell can instantly bring you back to certain memories in an instant. And floral fragrances bring me to happy times spent with friends and family.

The  Bloomsbury Set, was an influential group of  writers, intellectuals, philosophers and artists, the best known members of which included Virginia Woolf, John Maynard Keynes, E.M. Forster and Lytton Strachey. This loose collective of friends and relatives lived, worked or studied together near Bloomsbury, London, during the first half of the 20th century. According to Ian Ousby, “although its members denied being a group in any formal sense, they were united by an abiding belief in the importance of the arts”. Their works and outlook deeply influenced literature, aesthetics, criticism and economics  as well as modern attitudes towards feminism, pacifism and sexuality. Basically they forged a path for future generations to be inclusive of all walks of life, which until very recent times we were charging ahead at full steam. Lets hope that this bump in the road to equality is just that a bump in the road and soon enough hate and fear mongering will be stopped in its tracks and we will get back on the right road!

The new Bloomsbury Set from Jo Malone is full of wonderful floral scents and also some really interesting more woody masculine fragrances. Of course I almost jumped for joy when I saw that Blue Hyacinth is one of the set. Hyacinth is quite possibly my favourite smell on the planet. I have loads of them planted in Gay Gardens and I literally check them every day at the moment to see if they are up yet so I can move them into the house for their wonderful smell!

Other fragrances in the set include Garden Lilies, Leather & Artemisia I think my Glenn will adore this one, Tobacco & Mandarin  and Whisky & Cedarwood all the bottles are  30ml with a RRP of €56.

The bad news is that this collection is limited-edition. If you fancy one of them you better get to Jo Malone as soon as they come out! I know I will be there getting a Blue Hyacinth.
