Dry Lips be GONE!!

I love me a good lip balm, I pretty much have one in every coat pocket, desk, beside my bed, in the car basically anywhere I sit for extended periods. I have tried them all, I particularly love ones that are deeply hydrating, my lips get very dry from now until spring, the central heat and colder weather reek havoc with them. My favourites are The Lip Balm from La Mer and Emma Hardie’s lip balm (I actually have both of these in the car!). For work I have been using Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream forever, I moved to the fragrance free one as soon as it was launched and I love this multipurpose product, it looks great over a dark eyeshadow for photos, not so great in real life as it can travel.

But there is a new kid in town and it’s mega! From Clinique the new Pep-Start Pout Restoring Night Mask is fab, although designed for use over night I have been putting it on while sitting at my desk writing and it soaks in and makes your lips feel divine! It is quite thick so possibly not the best idea if you share an office, as you look a bit crazy, but if like me your lips get really dry in the winter this is your saviour!! I guess it is more of a lip mask than a balm and it takes ages to soak in, which makes it the perfect overnight treat, but I never really do exactly what a product tells you to do…… They have also launched Pep-Start Pout Perfecting Balm, which is a less intense version of the mask but still provides a lot of moisture for your lips. It comes tinted or untainted. I am a sucker for orange lip tints and the tangerine one is amazing, there is also cherry, a good red and guava, a hot pink. These are perfect for anyone who is afraid of strong lipstick colours as the colour payoff is slight with just a hint of the colour on your lips but enough to get a small hit of colour! There is also an un-tinted version that I have in one of my pockets (my dog walking one which is possibly the most important one). They are available now with a RRP of €18.
